Reminder and Question

Good showing at class Sunday. It's always more enjoyable when we get a high number. Many different people bring many new ideas and styles to the table. Different levels and styles of athleticism also help too!

First the Reminder:

No class on Sunday. I am going to be playing Airsoft (ask me if you are interested) and Chris will be doing family stuff. 

Secondly a Question:

As I mentioned in previous posts, I have been working on moving the site to a "Survival Academy" URL for the blog. I stopped before I started because I have been wondering how much this site is actually helping folks. 

I feel that there MIGHT be better ways to get the info out there than a Blog. I have considered opening a Twitter Account or a Survival Academy Facebook Page so that you can all "follow" it and get feeds as I send them, rather than checking the site. I suspect that other students would contribute more if I did it this way too.

I want to know what everyone thinks!

Advice from a prepper...

Cruising YouTube can get you all sorts of places. Dark, strange places. 

I came across this guy. From what I understand about it, this guy is a "Prepper". Simply defined, he think's that when disaster strikes, you should be prepared as possible. This particular one thinks that events like Katrina or global economic collapse are going to become more common. 

No mater what your belief is, this video he made offers some good advice. It's meant to be a "Woman's" self defense video, but I think there is stuff we can all gain. There are also many ideas that are good to think about.

Bit of a follow up.

As stories develop, I try to keep up wit them.

Not for journalistic purposes, but for reasons of research.

I posted the McDonald's assault a while ago and the 3 min video showed a horrendous beat down.

Just today, I found the follow up story to that. What provoked the attack?

Not violence... Exactly...

One of the most difficult things that anyone can deal with is an Asshole. Particularly one that has not yet become violent. Without the legal authority to prevent him from doing something, assholes can run-a-muk.

I have had many problems with this in my past. Professionally and otherwise. There is no training for this kind of thing, just logic and focus.

What am I talking about? I'm talking about THIS asshole.

Now... The guy does become violent eventually, but until then... What do you do? At what point do you have legal authority to stop this guy? Should you?

There's no wrong answer to this question, just some interesting discussion.
