Cheat on your homework!
Chris suggested that for homework, you should find Chuck Liddell highlights. Well, I am here to help you cheat on your homework! On top of that I have a few things to add.
1. Watch where his shots come from. Chuck Liddell may have been the first fighter in the UFC/MMA world to really mix up kicks and punches the right way.
2. Watch how disoriented his opponents are when they are hit. The most powerful hit is the one you don't see. This is why Chuck is so leathal. He is able to mix up strikes into his fights that completely come out of nowhere. This is partially due to the fact that his stance is so unorthodox.
3. In many Liddell videos, you see him getting driven back. Then POP! Out of nowhere one of his goofy punches lands and shakes the guy. Liddell is an expert at reading his opponent and he pounces. Just like a shark! Slight bit of blood and he is hungry. Fights turn around and he explodes till the finish. The exploding power teeming with the ability to read the enemy is one of the reasons he is one of the greats.

That's enough of Mr. Liddell. I also promised Phil that I would put a reminder about our knife patterns:
X - The X pattern can angle itself all sorts of different ways, but the pattern is a basic figure 8 type.
Z - Think Zoro! Add twists and rips for added bonuses!
O - This is a more defensive/close up strike. Sides and low.
Q - This is the other one we sometimes call O. Blade hidden, quick circle envolving only elbow spin.
I think that covers all of our knife patterns! Hope to see you all next class!

Dog Brothers
I know that Chris and I have talked a lot in class about the "Dog Brothers". I know most of you have heard of them, or even seen their videos, but I realized that there is no videos of them on our blog. I thought I would post some of it just so you know.
Although what they do is a game more than a true fight, I think their combatives make a lot of sense.

There are many many more videos out there. I thought I would get you started and fire up your interests!

Massive group fights like this, and you are going to try to strip a weapon? No way.
I can't find any videos I like about good techniques... I guess you will have to go to class to see them!
Best advice is to just run like hell!
